Keynote Speaker: Ms. Kamisah Mohd Ghazali, Senior Vice President, Lead of Resilient Environment Unit, Iskandar Regional Development Authority (IRDA), Malaysia

IRDA will explore the evolving landscape of carbon pricing in a post-pandemic world and uncover the new challenges and opportunities that are expected to arise in implementing effective carbon pricing mechanisms.

Speaker 1: Dato‘ Feizal Mustapha, Chairman of Regulatory and Conflicts Committee (RACC), Bursa Malaysia Berhad

Bursa Carbon Exchange will discuss the outlook and potential of the global carbon market. The presentation will focus on the role of carbon offsetting and carbon trading as key strategies in driving ASEAN decarbonisation efforts and its transition to a net zero economy. 

Speaker 2: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jafreezal  Jaafar, Centre of Research in Data Science (CeRDaS), UTP

This presentation will explore the transformative potential of blockchain technology in measuring and managing carbon footprints. The key focus is on how blockchain can be leveraged to enhance transparency, traceability, and efficiency in carbon accounting and reporting, contributing to the realization of a net zero economy and fostering sustainable development.

Speaker 3: Dr. Patricia Seevam, General Manager, Transformation and Energy Transition, SHELL

Shell, as an established multinational Oil and Gas Corporation, will delve into the ethical dimensions of the carbon market, examining its social and environmental justice implications. It will analyse challenges and opportunities in ensuring fairness, equity, and inclusivity within carbon offsetting and trading mechanisms.
