Ts. Dr. Sathiabama T. Thirugnana is currently the Director of UTM Ocean Thermal Energy Centre and a Senior Lecturer in Razak Faculty of Technology and Informatics, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia and she is registered with Board of Engineers, Malaysia (BEM), MBOT, IEM, IEEE, IET and Energy Institute of UK and Malaysia. Currently, she is focused on Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion (OTEC) and its efficient technology to tackle Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and 2050 decarbonization action plans with O&G industries. In addition, she is the Project Manager for SATREPS OTEC project (2019 - 2024). She received her Ph.D. in Electronics Engineering, focused on thin-film solar cells from Waseda University of Japan in 2015. She possesses vast experience in the development and/or applications of efficient materials for solar cell, photo voltaic (PV) systems. Upon joining UTM, she has been actively involved in the STEM education initiatives and programs as part of her University Social Responsibilities (USR). Above all, for the past 18 years Dr. Sathia has involved herself in design, development, analysis, lead trainer and managing of various electrical & electronics testers, telecommunication and renewable energy (RE) industries in and out of Malaysia.

Prof. TPr Dr. Ho Chin Siong is Professor at University Technology Malaysia and appointed as Penang Urban Studies professorial chair at University Science Malaysia .He graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Urban Regional Planning, UTM, Master’s Degree in Construction Management ,Heriot Watt University, United Kingdom, Doctor of Engineering in System Information Engineering, Toyohashi University Technology Japan and attended the ASEAN Senior Management Development Program, Harvard Business School (Malaysia).He specialises in low-carbon and smart cities, urban sustainability, environmental modelling and urban management. He previously served as head for the SATREPS project on Development of Low Carbon Society for the Asian Region, Muar Local Plan , GCoM Malaysian Pilot cities 2020-21 and has led Low Carbon Cities blueprint planning for Kuala Lumpur City Hall, Putrajaya Corporation, Pengerang City and local authorities within Iskandar Malaysia region Currently, he is also leading of City-to-City Collaboration on energy conservation Tokyo Metropolitan Government and Saitama City Hall with Kuala Lumpur City Hall 2021-2023, Project leader for WangsaMaju Kuala Lumpur Carbon Neutral Growth Centre Action Plan 2050, GCoM pilot cities 2022-2023 and Principal Research of Kuala Lumpur Local Plan 2040 for Low Carbon and Renewable Energy and Iskandar Malaysia Low Carbon modelling 2030-2050.
