Country Net Zero Perspectives

Session Theme 1 of COPE-BEST 2022

More than three quarter of GHG emissions is contributed from energy use in industry, transport and buildings sectors*. Solutions to mitigate and reduce GHG emissions must therefore address sustainable energy generation and utilisation as top priorities, apart from management of waste, Agriculture, Forestry and Land Use (AFOLU).

Themed “Toward Net Zero Emissions”, COPE-BEST 2022 aims to mobilise the energy sustainability community of practice within ASEAN, to collectively address the grand challenges of climate change through best practices and innovations in energy sustainability. Session 1 of COPE-BEST 2022 highlights the perspectives, initiatives and visions of a few ASEAN countries in charting the pathways toward net zero greenhouse gas emissions.
