Session Theme 2 of COPE-BEST 2022
The transport sector has been among the top three fastest-growing global contributors of greenhouse gas emissions, with growth of over 78% in the last 3 decades, behind Industrial processes which grew by 203% and electricity and heating which grew by 84% over the same period*. Within the transport subsectors, the land transport is one of the leading emitters of CO2. Increased travel by car is the leading cause for the rise in transportation emissions.
COPE-BEST 2022 Session 2 on Low Carbon and Green Mobility is expected to highlight among others, the use of energy-efficient, low-carbon technologies, clean energy sources and electrification across the transport subsectors in charting the Pathway Towards Net Zero GHG Emissions.
